Thanks the Commissioners of H.M. Treasury for granting the National Gallery £6000 to purchasing paintings from the Hamilton Collection. It also details how the entire grant for 1879-80 and 1881-82 has not been placed at their disposal and that the Wheeler Bequest can only be used to purchase art by British artists.
