Acknowledging receipt of Mr Coles' letter and renewing the request of the Trustees of the National Gallery that they be sent a copy of the Treasury Minute dated 14th Jun 1859, relating to Clause IV of the Superannuation Act 1859. This is in reference to the position of the Keeper of the National Gallery. Also expressing the opinion of the Trustees that the present Director is entitled to the benefits of Clause IV. Marked 'Reply to letter 9734'.
