Letter to Henry R. Grenfell, Deputy Governor of the Bank of England
|Date||17 Jul 1880|
Informing him that a pecuniary bequest has recently become payable to the
National Gallery, and under the terms of the Testator’s will the money is to be
invested in the names of the Trustees, but there are six Trustees and the
Treasury Solicitor says that the Bank of England may object to open the account
with more than four names. Requesting that he inform on whether this is the
case and if so what course should be adopted.
