Reply to letter 1137, of 2 Jul. Informing the Lords Commissioners of H.M.
Treasury that the appointment of the committee referred to will invoice no
expense to this Department beyond the fees which may be paid to experts for
their opinions or attendance and the charges of a short-hand writer to take
notes. It may be possible that these may be met out of the sum provided in the
Parliamentary Grant, but if the committee decides the 'Raising of Lazarus' does
need cleaning the expense might cause an excess, therefore the Trustees and
Director will communicate again before incurring such expense.
