Supplying information which the correspondent requested, saying that it was in 1855 that the late Mr Wornum succeeded Mr Uwins as Keeper of the National Gallery, and remained in office until his death in 1878; the Gallery does not contain any paintings attributed to the masters whom he named; and referring him
to a Parliamentary ‘Blue Book’ viz the Report of a Committee in the House of Commons in 1853.
