Description
Having spoken to the curator, named Archer, the Director has established that Miss Taylor told Archer she was taking the place of a copyist who had forfeited their place in front of that particular picture by not giving notice of her absence. Archer replied that the other copyist had indeed given notice of her absence. In replying to Taylor, Archer used an improper remark, which he now regrets. The Director apologizes, but would also like to point out that no complaint has previously been made concerning Archer.
