The Director is unable to entertain the offer made by Jones. The picture recently purchased by the Gallery is by Ambrogio Bergognone, also known as Ambrogio di Stefano. The picture is not by Bergognone also known as Cortese, which is the artist Jones has suggested the work can be attributed to.
