Description

In order to facilitate the examination of Critchfield's accounts for work with the National Gallery, it will now be necessary for Critchfield to make out all accounts in accordance with the form included with this letter. All regular and periodical work will now be charged for at a fixed rate per job, rather than by the time taken. Special work, such as the taking down or hanging of pictures, should be charged for by time. Whenever new picture frames are ordered, an approximate estimate of their cost must be sent in before the execution of the order. An estimate will also be required for the annual cleaning of Gallery walls and picture frames [page 148 contains a list of weekly and annual charges that will be made for various types of work in the Gallery].
