Re his letter of the 4 Sep re the Pettenkofer process. In his opinion no pictures have been injured by the process, contrary to the claims of an English newspaper. Refers to the 1865 Annual Report, the year when the process was last used, in which Eastlake wrote that the process clears but does not clean pictures
