Forwarding correspondence with the First Commissioner of Works re a communication with Mr E.M. Barry and the Commissioner's official reply. The Director had wished the matter to be settled informally. The Treasury Minute of 27 Mar 1855 states that requests for furniture or building alterations should be made to the Treasury not the Office of Works
