Explaining that the Director has only just been able to ascertain the exact amount required for the purchase of pictures from the £2000 made available by the Lords Commissioners of Her Majesty's Treasury for this purpose. The amount for 1887-1888 is £676. Also explaining that the question of reducing salaries for new and promoted Gallery staff to previous scales will be discussed by the Trustees at their next meeting
