Letter to Daniel Grant M.P
|Date||4 Feb 1885|
Acknowledging the receipt of the memorial signed by members of the Royal Academy which recommends the Gallery open to the public until 10pm on three week day evenings and replying a similar suggestion was made in 1881, and the reply (a copy of which is enclosed) is still the case today as recent events show the need to protect the Gallery and therefore the Trustees are unable to entertain their proposal at present. [The enclosed letter dated 9 Feb 1882 is also included]
