Description

From Milan: Eastlake gives details of purchase and commission for Memling and Circle of the Master of Saint Veronica. Professor Aus'm Weerth [sic] of Bonn, the author of a review of the Weyer pictures, wants a photograph of No. 687 which he may have wanted to buy for Berlin. Eastlake comments on the condition of No. 686, and refers to an engraving which was exhibited with the picture. He writes of the work of the Master of the Saint Bartholomew Altarpiece. The Queen intends to present the Wallerstein Collection. Space may be found at South Kensington. Wornum is to see the pictures at Kensington Palace and judge the space required.
