Description

From Munich: Eastlake has written to Mr Hardwicke. The Treasury letter leaves Eastlake free to employ his own agents. He has refused a Van Eyck. The Posen collection [Kilinski] was worthless. There is no prospect of anything first rate in the north of Italy. He wants to negotiate for the Barker Lippi, Ortolano and Crivelli. He has seen Layard: they attribute the Ghirlandaio to Pesello. Eastlake tells Wornum of his instuctions to Mündler.
