Description
The NW part of the Dome, with Francesco Francia's Altarpiece (NG179). The hang is similar to a view of the Dome area to Room VIII (37) published in Country Life, 8 May 1920 (M336). In Room 38 is Pollaiuolo's 'Martyrdom of S. Sebastian (NG292), and Giovanni dal Ponte's Triptych (NG580). In Room 37 is Raphael's 'Ansidei Madonna' (NG1171) and Gentile da Fabriano's 'Madonna and Child with Angels' (Royal Collection loan from 1919). There is no relief in the lunette of Room 37.
