Description
Correspondence between Westminster bank and the National Gallery relating to the bequest by Mrs E. Commeline, correspondence between the National and Tate galleries regarding the decision to send one of the pictures ('Portrait of Mrs Ingram') to the Tate and the other to the National Gallery. A third picture was bequeathed by Commeline but this was not accepted by either gallery. Correspondence with the National Portrait Gallery regarding viewing the two portraits, neither picture was of interest to the Portrait Gallery.
