The Department for Culture, Media and Sport has announced the following allocation of grant-in-aid to the National Gallery for the years 2005-8.

From 2005/06, the baseline has been revised to include additional annual superannuation contributions of £0.526m. These are not inflated.
The National Gallery welcomes the grant allocations announced today by DCMS. An increase in real terms in the grant for running costs will ensure that the Gallery is able to sustain and expand its services to the public, including its educational and community work. The significant increase in the capital allocation will help to fund essential maintenance and improvement of the building, benefiting the British public and international tourism to the UK.
